Landscape Design Consultation:
Brain storming/problem solving/horticultural advice: 2 hour minimum, ½ hour increments there after – billed at $150 per hour. If you then decide you want a full design, the fee will go towards the design.
Full Landscape Design:
Typically a three stage process which includes:
Initial Meeting: A discussion of what you want out of your garden, style and color preferences, problems, budget, how you plan to maintain the garden, etc. If you have pictures of gardens you like, this is a good time to bring them out, as I am designing for you, the more information you can give me the better. I usually can give you a rough bid for the entire landscape design cost at this time.
Preliminary Plan: This is a concept plan that shows planting areas, decks, patios, walkways, lawn areas, tree locations, water features, etc. The preliminary plan is where we make sure everything is to your liking before proceeding to the next step. If there is anything you are not happy with at the preliminary stage, I keep working on the design until I have it right and you are pleased.
Planting Plan: This shows the finalized plan with plants identified by their common and Latin name, along with quantities. I select plants based on your preferences, the style of the garden, gardening interests and ability and the physical constraints of the site (shade, moisture, exposure, etc) to make sure the plants are suitable to your site. A separate plant list is also provided of common and Latin names, in alphabetical order of all the plants and the size and quantity required to install your plan.
Facilitation during installation:
I visit the job site, answering design related questions, making sure the installation honors the design, and to facilitate any changes that may need to happen. This is highly recommended to insure your garden is installed the way it was designed, so your money is not wasted. Billed at ½ hour increments at $100 per hour.
